So, I subscribed to the Idaho Falls Post Register a couple months ago. I receive the paper daily with 5 copies on Sunday. Great. I'll get the coupons available. Right?
Not exactly so. I quickly learned that the Red Plum and the Proctor & Gamble inserts aren't available in this paper. Why, I don't know. Supposedly they are aware and are working out a deal, or something like that. Doesn't matter why, but I don't get all the coupons I want to make all the great deals happen.
So, I've purchased the Blackfoot paper a couple times to get the additional inserts. Great. Now I'll get all the coupons. Right?
Not exactly so. It only had the Smart Source & Red Plum inserts. No Proctor & Gamble. I keep hearing about this BOGO for Kraft Easy Mac in the Parade Magazine last Sunday. So I pull out all 5 copies, turn to the page where it's supposed to be--no coupon. What's up? I flip through the Parade several times looking for it and start thinking I'm going crazy. No coupon. What's up with that?
So, today I was at a convenience store in Idaho Falls and noticed they carry the Idaho State Journal out of Pocatello. They have some copies of Sunday's paper, so I flip through the inserts and guess what I find? The Smart Source, Proctor & Gamble, AND Red Plum. So I decide to see if this paper has the Parade magazine. Sure enough, there it is. I flip to the page where the coupon is supposed to be and guess what I find! The BOGO I'm looking for.
So I bought 5!
So, lesson is: Not all papers are created equal. I guess I knew that. But I didn't expect the advertisements in the Parade to vary by newspaper publisher. I may be frequenting this store each week and am reconsidering my newspaper subscription.
